A Week of Firsts

Avery tried some new things this week as a big six month old. :) She can sit up almost on her own, so I let her ride in the grocery basket like a big girl! She loved it, despite the face in the picture. She loved being able to look around and see everything. Don't worry Mom and Grandma :),  she was strapped to the cart cover which was strapped to the basket so nobody could just grab her out.  I never let go of the basket any way.
She also tried baby food for the first time. We started with carrots and sweet potatoes. She seems to like carrots the best so far. Se still tries to suck the spoon, but she is getting the hang of it.
She also slept in her own bed at night. I know, I know, she is six months old and just doing this. I liked having her in her little bed in my room so I didn't worry about her. She is getting way too big for that little bed, so I thought now would be a good time. She already naps in her big bed so it wasn't too foreign . She did well. She seemed to love the freedom to move around and stretch out. Still wakes up to eat in the night, but that's another story. :)
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Six Month Well Check

Avery had her routine well check this week and checked out great. She is doing so well. We feel so blessed that she has not been sick ever. She weighed in at 14 lb and 13 oz. and measured 26.5 inches. She is the 88% for length and 30% for weight. Still long and lean. :) She loves Dr. Hunt(pictured below). We'll be starting baby foods soon and all the fun stuff that comes with six month olds. This is such a fun stage!!

Valentine's Continued

Valentine's Day was so much fun with our little sweetheart! Aunt Laura came to visit and brought a basket full of goodies for her! Her Daddy gave her first rose, which she thought looked very delicious and tried to eat. He also gave gave her the little pink 2009 Valentine bear and the "daughter" plaque. She loved it! We set her up in the crib with some of her goodies and she was soo excited. It was really funny. She couldn't decide which new thing to grab next. The vase was quickly removed after the pictures. :)

6 Month Old Little Valentine

My sweet little girl turns 6 months old on Valentine's Day! I can't believe six months have flown by so fast. You are growing and changing so much, Avery. You are into everything you can get your hands on. Anything in your reach is yours, whether it's my plate of food or a vase of flowers!  You can almost sit up on your own, you roll all over the place when you are on the floor playing and you have mastered the art of scooting on your back to get places :), you love reading books still, you are still enjoying your Baby Einstein and Praise Baby dvds, you think the dogs are the funniest creatures ever, you love going for walks, playing with mommy's hair, and your silky pink blanket has became a favorite of yours. You are such a little doll, and you have stolen mine and your daddy's heart for sure. I can't imagine my life without you; you are my reason for everything. You are loved more than you know baby girl. Happy six months and Valentine's Day!!
Love, Momma

My Little Valentine

My mom (Mimi) came in town and stayed with us Monday night and watched Avery while Luke and I went on a date. It was so much fun! Thanks mom.  We went out to eat and saw a movie. We never get to do that so it was a real treat. She got her first Valentine's present from Mimi and Papa and she was very excited. Aunt Laura is coming to our house on Friday to watch Avery while Luke and I go out for Valentine's Day. We are being spoiled this week ! Funny how we go on a date to get away and spend time together, and every conversation we have seems to always end up about Avery. Guess that's what happens when you're a parent. :)

Week Recap

We have had a pretty uneventful week here. Avery and I have just been hanging out at home while daddy worked. She can't quite sit up on her own yet but she is very close. She is rolling all over the place and scooting on her back to get places. It's really funny.  No crawling yet. We have been enjoying the beautiful 70 degree weather and going on many walks in the stroller, which she loves.  She got a new "Praise Baby" dvd from her cousins(it's like Baby Einstein but has worship music) and she loves watching it. She gets soo excited when she sees the other babies on the TV; it's hilarious. She turns six months next week and I can't believe it. Stay tuned for more pics soon!

It's Always Sunny...

It's always sunny when you're shopping with mommy! I put Avery's sunglasses on her for the first time yesterday. She hates the sun in her eyes so I thought I would see if she would tolerate wearing them. Turns out she loved them! She just rode along in the stroller, smiling and looking at everything. She never attempted to take them off which surprised me b/c she grabs everything now. She must just love accessories like her mommy! :)
Ready to shop...bow in hair, check...pink sunglasses, check...paci, check. lol! Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Cousin Love

This past week Luke and I kept our two nephews, Gage and Griffin. We had lots of fun and Avery loved playing with her cousins. I learned a new appreciation for moms with three kidos. It was hard! It was also lots of fun and we made good memories. I gain more and more appreciation for my own mom and all the moms out there every day! :)
