Photo Shoot

Avery and I went to see the Easter Bunny in the mall yesterday. She loved him, despite her serious face in the picture. :) She looked so cute I decided to take some pictures of her outside after we left. It was fun chasing her around on such a beautiful day and trying to snap a few shots. I just love Spring time! I went at the wrong time of day and the shadows were bad, but they still turned out cute enough to share.

My pretty girl...

Big Girl

My 19 month baby is in a big girl bed! I was hoping she would stay in her crib till kindergarden, but it doesn't look like that will happen. ;) She started trying to crawl out a few nights ago(I think Little Gym might be to blame, ha!) We could see her on the monitor and we would yell "no" through our bedroom wall and she would lay back down like she was sleeping. So funny! I know she probably thinks we have eyes every where, if only she would think that forever! So we converted her crib to a daybed on Sunday night and she did much better than I thought. We put her to bed and she thought it was so fun that she could crawl into her bed on her own. We watched her on the monitor and she ran around her room for about 5 minutes, gathered up some babies to put in bed with her, and went to sleep. Can't believe it was that easy! Last night was great too. She loves now to tell us "night, night" and go crawl in her bed during the day. Today she put herself down for a nap, she ran in her room, shut the door and said "night night!" I thought for sure she was playing, but she fell asleep! I'm not going to lie, I cried the first night she slept like a big girl. No more crib just means my baby is getting too big! I'm looking forward to making her room more of a "big girl room" with new decor for her second birthday and I already have some bedding picked out. :)

We had to add the side rail the second night. The poor girl fell out of her bed three times the first night and just tried to sleep on the floor. She sleeps sideways in her bed like in the picture. The side rail has worked great, and we found a way to keep the bumber secured b/c she LOVES to sleep against it.

Egg Hunt!

Venture partnered with the City of Corinth Easter Egg Hunt this year and it was a lot of fun! We helped with bringing and hiding eggs, bounce houses, and we also served free lemonade in neat plastic cups with our name on them. It was a great way for our church to get involved in the community.
The best part of the day for me, was seeing Avery have so much fun hunting eggs and her mild obsession with the Easter bunny. OK, it was pretty extreme. I really thought she would be afraid of him like all the other hundreds of kids her age there. Oh no, she could not get enough of him! She chased him down the whole morning and couldn't get enough hugs! It was pretty sweet, he told her he liked her too. :) She would dance with him and it cracked me up. She's a hoot! We are getting excited about Easter next weekend! I promise we do try to teach our child the real meaning of the holiday, she is just fascinated with the bunny. :)
Sweet friends!
She loves her Casen! He looks like he's playing hard to get here, but he is in love too ;)
Hunting eggs!

This sums up the day...Avery headed toward the bunny
showing her dance moves to the bunny :)

We of course needed to show him where his eyes, nose, and mouth are. Ha!

She was telling him all kinds of things, who knows what?!
So sweet!

Pleeeease!

We have been working hard on teaching Avery to say please and thank you. She has been doing really well! The other day we were in Walmart together and we walked past the baby clothes. She spotted some PJ's with Dora on them. She doesn't have any clothes with Dora or any character for that matter on them bc I'm not the biggest fan of those clothes usually. She went crazy pointing and reaching for them so I put them in her lap and we pointed to Dora and Boots and the backpack, she was amazed that Dora was on a shirt! She typically wants to see things in the store and then we tell them "bye bye" and she never gets upset when we put them back. Not this time. I said "Tell the Dora PJ's bye bye". She said, "No." I hung them back up. Then she proceeds to say in the sweetest voice ever" Pleeeease". Sounds a little more like "Chleeeease" but you get the point. She continues to say please over and over again, not in a whining way, but the with sweetest tone. After about the 10th please her tone was getting louder, I caved. I know, I know fabulous parenting, but I couldn't resist the adorableness of that please.

Needless to say, she wants the Dora PJ's on ALL the time. I have to hide them when they are dirty.

Catch up post!

Realized I haven't blogged in over a week, the grandparents are getting anxious. ;) We had a great spring break, although Luke didn't have any work off, we still took time and had two date nights while Avery stayed with Mimi and Papa for two nights. She loved it and came home even more spoiled! We enjoyed sleeping in, going out to eat, movies, and working in the yard. Avery also went to her first movie in the theatre with Mimi and Papa; she enjoyed it and almost lasted the whole time in her seat. We got Aves a new slide for the backyard while she was gone. She really loves it! It took Luke 2 hours to put together so I was hoping she would. :) We had been enjoying the nice weather until Saturday when it snowed several inches! What in the world?! Of course Avery woke up, saw it and declared "Santa!" She cracks me up! Avery turned 19 months on the 14th. I can't believe that! Where did my baby go?? She is changing every day. I hear "what's dat?" at least 100 times a day, it precious, but good thing I adore this girl! She wants to know what every thing is and wants to tell every one in the store hi and bye. She is very social! She's learning new words every day and it amazes me. Her favorite things right now are bubbles(0h my, she's crazy for bubbles), Dora, craft time(we do this every day now and she loves using stickers and coloring) being outside, and going on walks with Chloe. We are enjoying every new stage and are crazy in love with this girl!!
Us before we went out on spring break
pretty flowers I got on date night :)
Few things I love more than watching my baby sleep! Precious! She has been sleeping soo late! Today I woke up before her at 9:30! She goes to bed before 8 too. Crazy girl! I'm not complaining, I love it! I need to enjoy it, I'm sure our next child will get up at 5 every day. I'm sure you can't get that lucky twice. :)
Feeding the ducks on our walk with Chloe and Daddy

I caught her trying to get out the door with Chloe the other day. She had gotten the leash out of the pantry and was headed out with Chloe! Good thing we keep it deadbolted! I feel sure they both would have been down the street in no time!
bubbles!
Enjoying the new school bus slide inside while it snowed. It's been kinda nice having it in the living room, she will play on it for hours while I cook/clean. Maybe it's not an outside toy, though it takes up almost the whole floor space in the LV. ;)

Have a great week!!

Park Fun

No need for an explanation of today, these pics show just how much fun we had enjoying the beautiful sunshine!
