3 1/2 years old...

Sweet Avery Ellen,
You're 3 1/2 years old! You won't let me call you my "little girl" anymore so I call you my "little big girl." :) You love to remind me that you are in fact a big girl and not a baby. It makes me smile and cry at the same time. You are such joy at this age! I remember chasing you every where when you were a toddler, wondering if it would ever get easier. You make it pretty easy to be a parent now. (if that's possible;) You have the sweetest little heart and love people deeply. You have never shown anything but love for your new baby sister from day one. You're so sweet to her and love to give her kisses. I hear, "I love you momma" at least 10 times a day. You are quick to say you're sorry when you're wrong and fairly easy to discipline...for now at least:) After you have been to time out, you always ask over and over, "You forgive me? I'm berry sorry" It's so sweet how sensitive you are. You have become a little rule follower and you're very concerned when you or someone else is making a "bad choice". You tell me every day after school who made bad choices and how it makes Jesus sad, cracks me up! You love to color and draw, you're very into crafty things right now. You love to read and spend lots of time "reading" your books to yourself at night. You LOVE the Bible. You ask us 100 questions about the stories and ask "why" a lot. You love to dance, you're completely obsessed with Disney princesses, you like to play with your baby dolls and you imitate every thing I do with Adalyn with your dolls. You take after your mom and you love to go shopping. Target can always make you happy:) You love preschool and learning new things. You know how to spell your name and can write it too. You have three letters in your name down without any help and the last two you need just a little help writing legibly. I can't believe how big you are! You have quite an opinion on what you wear and how we fix your hair. It cracks me up! I'll always remember you in a Hello Kitty shirt at this age! You are super girly, yet can keep up with the boys and have more energy than a lot of little boys I know! You love to play outside and get dirty. Currently, you plan to be a firefighter when you grow up. No idea where you got that one! You are still fiercely independent and like to do things your way. You don't follow the crowd usually, you know what you like and go for it, no matter if you're the only one. You still aren't shy but you have become a little more reserved in public. You don't have to talk to every single person we see now:) Your energy exhausts me just to watch you. You pretty much run every where and you're constantly busy. You prefer to be doing something at all times. You play very well independently. I could type for hours about all the things I love about you at this age. You have mine and your Daddy's heart little girl. I love you so much it makes my heart hurt. You'll always be my baby, no matter how much of a "big girl" you are becoming.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy LOVE Day from my little lovies:)

Oh.My.Goodness. I LOVE these two.

Daddy took this little love bug and mommy to lunch while big sister was at school. Then Adalyn and I joined Avery for her Valentine's party at school.

Opening their presents from mommy and daddy. Love this pic:) The girls also loved opening all the presents from family in the mail. Thanks so much!
Our super sweet friend is coming over to watch the girls so Luke and I can go to dinner alone. What a treat!! What a great Valentine's Day with the ones I love most.

6 month stats

Little miss Adalyn checked out great at the doctor last week. Thankful for my healthy girl! She was sweet as can be for the doctor and nurses and just gave the saddest pouty face after her shot.:( She melts my heart with her sweet, sweet personality. She weighed in at 15lb 12oz which put her in the 50%. She was in the 75% for length and head. Still can't believe it's been 6 months!

6 Months Old

Adalyn,
Happy half birthday!! How can you be 6 months old?! Time sure has been flying by since Aug. 8th. You are a simply a joy. You are such a sweet and easy baby. You're changing so fast! You tried some baby food this week and you're still trying to get used to it. We tried carrots and sweet potatoes and you seemed to like sweet potatoes the best. You still can't really sit up on your own yet. I think it's because you just prefer to sit in someone's lap:) You are a rolling machine though and can move across the floor by rolling. You have started to grab things and will hold a toy. You love watching Praise Baby and will giggle when you hear the opening song cause you know what's coming. You adore your big sister and I still think she can make you smile more than anyone. You love to sit and watch her dance around a room. It's precious. We are always on the go and you are the best baby. You catch a nap in the car and are always ready for what's next. We can hit the grocery store, ballet lessons, doctor's appt. and out to dinner with friends all in one day and you are just as happy as can be with it all. I love to cuddle you, read to you, and sing to you. You love when Avery and I sing "the baby song" to you. You have started sleeping all night in your crib in your room the last week. We started with just part of the night at first, mainly cause mommy couldn't handle you being so far:) You have done great and really prefer your own bed. You go to sleep around 6:30-7 and wake up for the day around 8-8:30. Still haven't got you to sleep as late as your sis but I still have hope;) You wake twice in the night to eat, around 11pm and 5am. I actually enjoy our time in the pink chair at night. Our family is so in love with you Addy girl. I love being your mommy, you make my world go round. I can't imagine life without your sweet face. I hope these next 6 months before your 1st birthday don't go by too fast! I'll be soaking every second in. Love you to the moon and back baby girl!
Love, Mommy

5 Month Pictures

I took these pictures of Adalyn to capture her at 5 months. Just a little naked babe in the middle of mommy's bed:) I figured I better hurry and post them before she turns 6 months! I took some similar of Avery at this age; fun to compare! They both are the cutest 5 month olds I have EVER seen!!
The classic "Adalyn look" :)

Those rolls are pure yumminess!!
She's all smiles ALL the time! Love her!

Ballet and Gymnastics

Avery started two new classes last week and has been so excited about it. It makes her seem so big to me! She tried ballet about a year ago and was just a little too young and wasn't ready. So, we tried again because she has been asking. She did great this time. She is the tiniest little thing out there and I can hardly stand to sit in my seat and not run out there and squeeze that tiny little booty! Being in a leotard lined up next to all the girls you can tell just how TINY she is. So cute. Her teacher thought she was two until she started talking:) Maybe she'll catch up a little one day, but if not, I love her tinyness.
Luke and I also really wanted her to take gymnastics for many reasons. So she tried that out as well. She liked it and did great. It makes me a little nervous to watch them but she is fearless and so proud of herself so it makes me happy to she her in her element.

My little ballerina so excited for class.
She looks so grown up to me here:(
She's got the pointed toes thing down:)

She loved to stay by the teacher. So presh

Her teacher's name is Mrs. Jenn and Avery really liked her. She hugged her numerous times in class. :)
Next we we went to try out a gymnastics class. She did great and loved it too. I think she likes ballet better but we were glad she wanted to stick with gymnastics too.

By the end of the day, poor thing had done one ballet class and two gymnastics classes, each one hour long. It was a lot for one day! Good thing we are only taking two classes and each on a different day of the week because this girl was worn out! She passed out sitting up trying to eat dinner. Poor baby. She woke up the next day asking to go again though:)
