I Don't Want to Forget...

My friend, Amy, gave me this idea. I often think something Avery does or says is so cute or sweet and I don't want to ever forget this stage. I never seem to remember to journal it so I'm sure I will forget if I don't. Not sure why I don't have time for that, hmmm. ;) That's the beauty of blogging though!

Lately, at 22 months, these are a few of my favorite things Avery does/says:

-She loves to pray. The other day we were in the Dillards dressing room and I had a swim suit half on and she demanded "pray momma!" with her little hands clasped. So we prayed right then. :) Love it!
- She says "sorry" in the sweetest little voice when she has upset me or gets in trouble. It's precious. Sometimes it's kinda pitiful when she says it over and over for something like spilling drink.
-She loves to go the pool and swim. She calls it going to the "wadee"(water)
-She has started time out a few months ago and does pretty well with it (when she wants to, ha!) Sometimes, rarely, but sometimes she needs a spanking bc time out doesn't work. The other day I had to spank her bc she would NOT listen and she laughed at me after I did it. Oh my! I have my hands full!!
-She put one of her toys in time out the other day and cracked me up
-She loves to tell EVERYONE we see when we're out hi. She says "hi wady!!" (hi lady) to people all the time when we are out and they just laugh and wave back. She used to point to people in the stores and ask who they were and I would say a lady, so that's where she got it from.
-She is very outgoing and fearless. She adores the huge cow at Chic -fil-A and hugs him and gets him to dance with her when we go in there now. Most of the other kids her age are a little timid, bot not her. She's a hoot!
-She loves having her toes done and will bring the toe nail polish to me and say "toes?". That's my girl! Ha!
-She loves to put on lotion, or "showtion" as she calls it. She brings me a bottle often and asks "showtion??" Or sometimes she will just get the bottle herself and dump it all out and lather up. I much prefer when she asks!
-She loves to go to Target with me. She calls it "momma's" when we pull up. Kinda sad cause that shows you how much we go. :)
-She loves to take "showshers" (showers) When she hears one of us going to shower, she starts ripping her clothes off to join!

I LOVE this girl and I know she will just keep amazing me with every new stage!

It's HOT outside!

We have been beating the heat at the neighborhood pool quite frequently and also went to a super fun ice cream party with some of our friends from Venture last weekend. I love sumer time, despite the 100 degree heat!
This was Avery around this time last year in the same suit! I can't believe how much she's changed! sniff sniff :)

Playing with Daddy
Oh my, I LOVE this girl!

Enjoying the ice cream with Avery Kate!

They got to decorate buckets and then fill them with ice cream and yummy toppings
Yum! Her favorite was picking out the fruitloops out of the ice cream. Silly girl!

Father's Day Weekend...

We had a great Father's Day! I love this picture of Luke and Avery at church, so sweet. Luke's family came to visit and went to church and lunch with us on Sunday. Avery loved playing with her cousins. They adore her and are so sweet to her. We had a great time getting to see them.

All the kids at church painted a frame for their dad and out a picture of the two of them in it. They came out at the end of church and gave it to their Dads. Avery found daddy on stage and ran to him. :)

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddies out there! Most of all, to my Daddy. :) I have the best Dad a girl could ask for. He was and is always there for me. I love him to death!
Avery is also so blessed to have a wonderful Dad who loves her to pieces. He truly adores her and she adores him. She just recently started calling him "my daddy" instead of just daddy. Love it! She lights up when he comes home and loves to play with him. I don't think any one can make her laugh harder than he can. He makes her breakfast every morning without fail and makes time every day just for her. We take turns bathing and reading to her every night and sometimes she says " Daddy Bible??" when I start to read to her because she wants him instead. I love that she has such a good relationship with him! He takes her on dates to Chic-fil-A and she loves her Daddy time. Happy Father's Day Luke, you are an amazing man and father.
Love, your girls.

she's had him wrapped around her little fingers from the start!

"They say from the moment he lays eyes on her, a father adores his daughter. Whoever she grows up to be, she is always to him that little girl in pigtails. She makes him feel like Christmas."

Bachelorette Party Weekend!

Last weekend was my sister, Laura's, bachelorette party. We had a great time with all of her friends. We got to stay in the Hilton in downtown Austin and go out for a nice dinner at the Iron Cactus. Lots of fun! I enjoyed a kid free weekend and sleeping in a hotel. :) I can't believe the wedding is in less than 2 weeks! I'm excited.

Little Gym Medal Ceremony

Avery had her "Show Day and Medal Ceremony" at The Little Gym. It was so cute to see all the little kids so proud of themselves. They got to show off their skills and get a medal at the end of class. They stood them up on a high mat and played some olympic music as they each took a turn getting their medals. It cracked me up! She was a little unsure about going up there without me, but once everyone started clapping for her, she got excited. :) She never smiled, just stared at everyone and acted like she was big stuff. Ha! She has learned so much in her class and made some new friends. Such fun memories!

My cute gym star :)

So funny! She's so proud of herself up there

forward rolls!!

getting her medal from the teacher
She was very proud of her medal and had to wear it the rest of the day... I had to hide it at naptime. :)
Class pic. She is the youngest in her class, but one of her "younger" buddies from her old class was there with her for show day today and she was glad.

Enjoying a sucker afterwards!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day weekend! We started the weekend off with a playdate with Avery's bestie, Avery Kate. We took them to a sprinkler pad at Highland Village. They had a blast and didn't mind getting soaked in their clothes. We did a little shopping and ate lunch...good times!
so excited!
April and the girls

Having a blast! Love AK's face in this pic!!
Love her! She looks so sweet and innocent here...unlike when she ran out of the sprinkler area and I yelled for her to come back now, she turned around and waved bye bye to me and giggled as she ran. Little toot! :)
sweet friends!

We also spent a lot of time at home and had a great time with our little family.
Fun times in our backyard!

loving the "wa wa!"

Daddy and Avery at dinner Friday night.
Fun family dinner! Luke and I started loving to go to Hibachi Grill restaurants after we tried one in Abilene recently, cause Aves gets scared of the fire and will go completely still and cuddle with you for like 20 straight minutes. This is rare for our wild child, we love it. :)

On Monday we had a great time with our good friends, the Storments. Avery and Eden are best buddies and could not stop giving each other hugs all night. I loved it!

I am so thankful for those who have sacrificed so much so the we can enjoy times like this!! May God bless them and their families for their selflessness.
