school's out for the summer!!

Last Thursday was Avery's last day of school before summer break. She has really loved her little mother's day out class this year! I can't believe it's been 9 months since her first day! I may have sobbed just a little after dropping her off that day. :) I just can't believe how big she's getting and how much she has grown up. I remember the first day sobbing because I could hardly stand to leave her for the first time. She clung to me and was not happy that I left her. In no time her little personality shown through and she would hardly tell me bye when I dropped her off. Her teachers were great this year and made each child a neat scrap book of the year to surprise the parents. It was the sweetest thing! So neat to see how much she's changed since her first day through the pics and things they wrote about her. I don't think she realized it was really the last day until today when she asked if she could go to school and I told her not till summer is over. She said, "oh no, that's a long time momma!"

rain, rain go away...

and tornados go away too!! This crazy weather these last few days as been scary! I am little over the rain and humidity at this point. Reminded me of how I hated the the humidity in Florida when we lived there! Avery said the other day when we were getting in the hot car, "What kind of hot is this momma?" I just had to laugh!
We actually had a small tornado hit Denton a few days ago, yikes! Some of our good friends actually got quite a bit of damage to their home, I feel so bad for the Jackson family. Thankfully they were not home. I was working at the hospital the night it hit and Luke was at home with Avery in the closet.:) A code black in the NICU with a bunch of tiny babies was interesting to say the least!

Here are some pics of my cutie playing in the rain. I wish I had a video of her singing the words to the song, "rain, rain go away" It's the sweetest thing.

Catch up!

I have been way behind on blogging! I temporarily "lost" my blog and and couldn't sign in for days. Luckily my smart hubby fixed it, took him a while but he did it thank goodness!
We have been super busy these last few days like always I guess. Summer is going to fly by and we'll have another little girl at our house before I know it. :) Here are some pics to hit the highlights of the last week or so.

Avery's splash day at school. To say she had a blast would be an understatement! One of the moms there said to me, "Avery sure is excited today and has a ton of energy! It must be the water." Her teacher said, "Oh no, that's little Avery all the time!" I couldn't agree more. Never a dull moment!

She loves to help me do anything, especially cook. She says all the time, "Momma, can I be your big helper?!" Love it!

Avery with her cousins, Gage and Griffin at Luke's brother's wedding. I love this picture of them. The boys adore Avery and she has them wrapped around her little finger. They are really the sweetest little boys I know!

My mom turned 50 and we all got to together to celebrate! Avery wanted her to have a Hello Kitty party because she is obsessed with it right now and planning her own party this summer. Of course, Avery's wish is my mom's command and we celebrated with the whole Kitty theme, party hats and all. :) My parents kept Avery over night in a hotel and took her to the zoo the next day. Luke and I enjoyed our kid-free weekend and hung out with my sis and brother-in-law. Good times!
Happy birthday mom!

I promise to post more soon for the Avery addicted grandparents;)

A visit home and fun day at school

We headed to Austin for a fun visit home for Mother's Day weekend. It was a great weekend that went by too fast. We of course had to have another Easter Egg hunt because all the family hadn't seen Avery on Easter. Avery was thrilled with the idea of another egg hunt!
Avery showing her toys to sweet baby Rhyder. He is the sweetest baby!! I think he'll outweigh Avery in a few months. :)

She spends a lot of time outside with Papa and loves every minute!

I can barely handle the cousin cuteness!!

We got to visit Laura at her school for Field Day. She teaches 1st grade and Avery really loves to visit her students. I think she feels really special being in the teachers lap :) They had bounce house slides, fun at the playground, bubbles and sidewalk chalk and Avery hung with the big kids and acted like she was part of the group. :) I can't even imagine her that big one day!
Avery's face in this pic cracks me up! She was so happy to run around at Aunt Laura and Uncle Blaine's house.
Sweet Cooper is so much fun!
Some Auntie loving:)

Avery had a "fun day" at school last week complete with a petting zoo, bounce houses, a picnic and art show. I love visiting her at school! She's so proud of me and likes to show all her friends her momma. :) I know this will all too soon pass and she'll think it's embarrassing but I love it now!

She wanted to take the pony home to be friends with Chloe!

They had some of their best artwork on display. Avery was very proud to show some of hers!

She is going to miss her friends at school so much over the summer! We have a few playdates in the works to let all the little buddies stay connected. Avery got invited to her best boy buddy's house to play and daddy freaked. ;)

Happy Mother's Day!

"Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,

I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night
.
Before I was a Mom,

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep
.
Before I was a Mom,

I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy
.
Before I was a Mom,

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a
Mom."

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful momma's out there and especially to my momma, who I hope to become more like one day. :) Had a super special day with my little love who made me a momma and Luke. They surprised me with a new dress they had picked out all on their own for me to wear to church. Loved it! Avery made me the sweetest little pictures and cards and she was so proud. After a relaxing pedicure, they took me to my fav place to eat. It was a great day! Being a momma to Avery and Adalyn is my dream come true and the best job in the world!

not a good pic but the only one I got today!
