Caught on Camera

You know that moment when you see the sweetest candid photo opportunity? That happened the other day as I walked through the house and saw Avery talking to her baby sis. The camera just happened to be on the counter so I snuck in and snapped a few...
Sweet sisters.

In case you haven't figured it out, my heart is walking around outside
of my body disguised as two, bow headed baby girls:)

This is when Addy saw me. Makes me so happy to see them love each other the way they do!
I love these two a ridiculous amount :)

Adalyn and Avocado

"What in the world are giving me mom??
You mean you want me to actually feed myself this stuff?
I guess I'll try it since you say it's super healthy and a family favorite...
I'm just not sure I'm into this whole eating thing. Too much work, where's the milk?
I'll just stick to be cute and chilled. Deal?"

Happy Spring

Happy Spring everyone! The girls and I went to Austin for Spring Break last week. It was a blast and a much needed vacation! As you can tell in the first picture, Avery thinks she is royalty at her grandparents house. ;) We got to see all the family and celebrate some birthdays as well; good times! Nini and Papa were so sweet to keep the girls a lot so I could go out with my sister and do a lot of shopping:) I wasn't ready to come back to reality at home! (I uploaded all my pics from the trip and I'm not too sure why they are all spaced weird)

We took Avery to a place called Kiddie Acres. It was a blast! I remember going there as a kid so it was neat to take my girls there. Avery loved all the rides. She loved the pony rides the best. I love the look on her face when she is on the pony, pure joy.:)

Pastor's Wife

I linked up with Kelly's Korner for her "Ministry Wives" blog. I thought it would be fun to connect with other minister's wives! It's a unique world that's for sure, and it's encouraging to be reminded you're not alone! My hubby is a pastor and we have been a part of two traditional churches before he (or as you wives know too well, "WE") planted a church two years ago in Denton, Texas. What a journey it has been! Definitely challenging but SO rewarding as well. God has taught us so much through planting and serving a church. It has truly been amazing. To say I always love being a pastor's wife would not quite be the truth, but for the most part it's wonderful. It's a full time, unpaid and often under appreciated job, but it's also wonderful at the same time. The people at our church, Venture Community, make it wonderful for me. Our church family there is such a blessing to me. They are Jesus to me in so many ways.
I get the phrase, "You don't seem like the typical pastor's wife!" all the time. This is funny to me. I didn't know we were all cookie cutters!;) I take that as a compliment though. Truth is, I'm just real. I don't know any other way to be. I'm a mess a lot of the time, exhausted from raising two sweet baby girls and loving my husband, serving our church in ways seen and unseen and trying my darndest to be like Jesus. I'm just like any other wife and momma, just that my husband leads a church and I support him in that! I don't really feel a lot of the "fish bowl" pressure, largely because my hubby does a great job of protecting me from the pressures of being a pastor's wife and also because our church family is so amazing. I'm so grateful for that! One of the most dreaded, but funny at the same time, things about being a pastor's wife is when you are talking to new people and then the question comes up, "So what does your husband do??" I often want to lie and say, "Oh, he's a business guy" or something along those lines.:) As soon as the word,"Pastor" comes out, the look on people's faces is classic, a nervous smile and a congratulatory type comment. Usually the conversation comes to end soon after. They are recalling everything they have said, hoping they didn't say a bad word or something they wouldn't say in front of a "Pastor's Wife" Ha! This seriously makes me laugh so hard. That's when I just want to explain that I am in fact "normal" and don't go around judging and condemning people. I would sure be in trouble if someone did that to me! It's a world only a pastor's wife could understand, but it's a world I'm sure thankful I'm a part of! Blessings to all the Pastor's wives out there, your work for the Lord is not in vain!

"The Pastor's wife is the only women I know who is expected to
work full time with out pay on her husband's job,
in a role no one has yet defined." -Ruthie White

"In the shadow of the home, stands a figure often obscure. Just behind
the pastor, is his wife. She is with him every minute, helping to make his work progress.
You can't discount her portion in the measure of success. Often behind the scene of action,
often never seen or heard, yet she stands forever ready to give a helpful word.
It's not in active service that her worth is really shown, but in bearing heavy
burdens that to others are unknown. With encouragement and vision,
she must urge God's servant on, when the shadows are the
darkest and his courage almost gone. With her home forever open and her work never quite done,
she is forever his lieutenant in the battles fought and won."

"I'm the big sister"

Avery is so proud of this shirt. In fact, she hasn't wanted to take it off after two days straight. She knows what it says and loves the story behind it.
This shirt has history. It's truly a "vintage" t-shirt.
It makes my heart so happy to see her in it with her sweet baby sis by her side.
I'm sure it makes my mom's heart happy too. Because you see,
this shirt was once worn by another big sister with her sweet baby sis by her side.

7 months

You're seven months old Adalyn!
Can't believe it! You are growing so fast. I love this age! You have such a sweet little personality and you're just such a happy baby. You love to smile at everything and everyone. Avery makes you giggle all the time. You started to show some interest in Chloe too, and you turn the giggles on when she gives you doggy kisses. You are super laid back and really don't care much to try and crawl or sit up by yourself. We are practicing sitting up but you would rather just lay on your back and chill. You do love tummy time though. You pick up your toys and play and put everything in your mouth. No teeth yet, but I feel like any day one on the bottom will pop up cause you've been working on it for a while now. You favorite things are: being held(this is really all you want all the time) Praise Baby, playing with and watching Avery, talking to and laughing at Daddy, and listening to mommy sing to you. You can drink water out of a sippy cup now and really like that. You are still working on getting used to baby foods, you're not all that impressed. Teething biscuits though, are a favorite. I love that you are perfectly content to just sit on my lap all day long. You're so different than your sister at this age who was very busy and active. I love each thing about you that makes you who you are. I hope you let me cuddle you all day forever.:) Words cannot express my love for you sweet girl. You and your big sis are my entire world. I love you so much, happy 7 months!
Love, Momma
