A Day at the Park...

Lately...

I have been too busy to keep up with the blog! As if Avery doesn't keep me busy enough, we have been traveling some and I am working a little at the hospital so I barely have time to sit at the computer. Avery and I headed to Austin last week to celebrate mine and my sister's birthday. Avery had lots of fun being spoiled and playing at Mimi and Papa's house. My sister and I shopped A LOT and had a great time. :)

My sister, my aunt, and I always celebrate our birthdays together since they are only a few days apart.

We got to go to the UT vs. OU game! It was a blast. Our friends, Brian and Heather, got us tickets. It was an awesome game and it kept us on the edge of our seats bc it was so close. GO HORNS! Avery stayed with her friend, Avery Kate and had a blast playing at her house.

14 Months

My angel is 14 months today! These are a few of my favorite things about you at 14 months old...

You reach your arms up and say "momma" when you want to be held

You point to everything and say "what's dis?"

You love to dig through my makeup and pretend

You climb on everything!

You love it when mommy or daddy chases you through the house

You're a giggle machine when we tickle you

You pick up bows and try to put them in your hair (so proud of this one ;)

You love Chief and Chloe and point to them constantly and try to say "dog"

You are addicted to purses and bags, and you love to carry one around the house and pile all kinds of things inside it.

You shake your head "no" when I tell you "no no"

You love to pick books off your shelf to bring me and daddy to read to you

You like to help me put away your laundry

You let me cuddle you in the rocking chair when you're tired

I could go on and on, but these are just a few of my favorite things about my favorite girl who is 14 months old today!!

Lately...

We had company this past weekend. My mom, my sister and Blaine, my grandma and my aunt all came to visit. It was lots of fun! They had a great time with Avery and she loved having them around. We went out to eat, shopped a lot, and went to church at Venture on Sunday. Avery was spoiled as usual...lots of new clothes, shoes and toys. She is going to be shocked one day when she realizes that the world does not revolve around her. :)

Daddy is at a preaching conference this week so we are missing him. Avery looks for him in his office sometimes..so sweet. She is cutting four molar teeth right now and it is no fun. I thought she might have had an ear infection bc she had been fussy and not wanting to eat much. I took her in to be sure and no infections, just teeth coming in. Poor baby! I guess at least she is getting four done at one time. Her new favorite thing this week is to climb up on the fireplace. It scares me! Today I came in the living to find find her up there and just as I was saying "No No", she jumped off and landed on all fours. I thought for sure she would cry because we have hard wood floors and she landed right on her knees, but she laughed hysterically instead. I have my hands full with this crazy girl!!

Here she is waiting for the company to get here. She got to stay up past her bed time so she could see everyone. I managed to get no pics from the weekend! Oh well.

She loves to run to her room and shut the door. It cracks me up. She just needs the privacy I guess. :) This time I caught her right before she shut me out.

Balloons for Liam

Tonight our small group had a balloon release in honor of Liam. Liam is Ben and Leah Jordan's little boy who went to be with Jesus at 20 weeks gestation last week. Our hearts are heavy for them, but it was a good time to celebrate his life tonight. I am reminded of how important it is to have a church family especially in tough times like this. We all gathered to remember Liam, pray and release balloons with notes attached. I cannot even imagine the pain that they are going through, but I am so inspired and amazed by their strength and the peace that they have. Please remember to keep this family in your prayers.

Bathtime

I took these pictures the other night at bath time. I don't think she has ever not enjoyed a bath. It might be her favorite time of day! :) She has also started really getting into brushing her teeth. She used to just let us do it and now she wants to. It's a fight some times prying the toothbrush from her. I have let her "brush" her teeth right up until bedtime then she usually will trade me for a paci. It's so cute. Love this girl!

Family Fun Day

We had a family day today and went to the mall in Grapevine. Luke tries to take one day off during the week since he works on Sundays. It was a lot of fun! Avery loves shopping. We went to eat, shopped for some fall clothes, and let Avery ride the carousel with Luke. We also ran into a NFL player while there which made Luke's day. He says the carousel with Avery actually made his day...so sweet. It was a good day!
