Baby Dedication

Tonight was the baby dedication at our church. It was really neat. There was a reception before church and we were prayed for by the elders.  Avery got a new Bible, a cross for her room, and her first taste of a cookie at the reception. :) It was a very special night. There were so many babies there, I couldn't believe it! She got to hang out with her two besties, Avery Kate and Eden! Thanks Richland Hills for honoring and blessing our sweet little girl!

Getting Ready for Easter...

I'm excited for Avery's first Easter! I got her this Easter bow a while back and she has been wearing it every day this week so far to get in the Easter spirit. :) She has started to think it is funny to pull off her headband bows, which is heartbreaking for me. Ha! Still haven't decided which dress she will wear for Easter; we've been having dress up parties to try to decide. Yep, that's what we do while Daddy is at work. :) I  remember when I was little and it was so much fun to get a new dress to wear to church on Easter. I don't want my baby to grow up, but I'm excited for her to get to that age. I look forward to teaching her what Easter is all about one day.
The last pictures are from Sunday; she was so happy after I dressed her and was like "Ok mom, take my picture, I look cute." The last picture is her practicing for ACU sing song. She's a future siggie and I've taught her that siggies always win, so she is getting her sing song face down.

Girls' weekend...

Luke was out of town this weekend preaching at a retreat, so Avery and I had some girl time. We had a fun weekend even though we missed daddy. On Friday we had lunch with our friends Tiffany, April and April's little girl, Avery Kate. Then mommy and Avery did a little (too much ) shopping. When the daddy is away, the girlies will play. :) Then on Saturday Avery was feeling a little yucky because she is getting another tooth...no fun. After laying around most of the day, we went out to dinner that night with Tiffany, April and Avery. The Averys' had some fun play time!

Blue Dress

This little blue dress was my dress when I was a baby. I remembered I had it the other day and quickly put it on Avery, hoping that she hadn't gotten too big for it. It fit and she looked so cute! I'll have to find a picture of me in it and see if we look alike at all. I'm afraid she looks like a baby Luke in a dress though! :)

In My Daughter's Eyes...

In my daughter's eyes
I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I want to be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes
Everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light
And the world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me
Gives me strength when I am weak
I see who I want to be
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand around my finger
How it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
It's holding on when your heart has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes
I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
And though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you'll see
How happy she made me
For I'll be there...
In my daughter's eyes.

The Dallas World Aquarium

We took Avery to the Dallas World Aquarium and we had a blast! This was her first time to go any where like this. She loved it. She really likes animals, so we thought she would have fun. Plus they had sharks and Luke loved that. :) It was a great family fun day! WARNING: this post has a lot of pictures!

She didn't care too much about the sharks; I guess she takes after me on that one!

Her favorites were the penguins and the flamingos. She loved watching them. It was so cute to see. She even got to pick her very own penguin from the gift shop to take home! We held up a flamingo and the penguin and she went for the penguin. :) It was such a fun day! We are already looking forward to taking her back when she is older.
